This space is blank in silent protest to the senseless murdering of our people in South Africa and to pray for our police and judicial system to be improved and given more resources so as to put a stop to all of  this carnage.

10 000 victims in South Africa every year!

This is the number of murders that go unsolved every year!

UAE sets good example of good policing

It’s fantastic to see so many people coming up for Skop. We are nearing the turn of events in South African history. Siener van Rensburg, who was a Boer prophet that lived in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s said that there will be English people who side with the Afrikaner. Keith you are such an example of that. South Africa during its Apartheid era was good for the whites and the people became brain washed that they were doing a bad thing, hence the democratic reform. All in all South Africa will be a great country provided there is no crime, no murder, rape and fraud and, and, and…..the list goes on and on. We live in a realistic world where people easily say that you cannot achieve all that, but at least we can try to control it.

A very good example is the United Arab Emirates. How they manage to control crime is by good policing. This is something South Africa seriously lacks. Do you honestly believe that there is no money to provide in an effective police system? This from a country that wants to pay another country debt. There was a massive brain drain when democracy stepped in because people knew this was going to happen. It happened through all of Africa. But we’ve reached the end of the continent

and where do we go from here. Let’s face it fellow country men, the black people are at war with the whites and the only reason that they haven’t gone on a full blown killing spree is because it is controlled. Do you honestly think that they are killing farmers because they are easy targets and alone on their farms. No, it is a process and when they cross paths with someone unfortunate like Jay then they will use the opportunity. You know how the old South African police and some whites treated the blacks. They were the minority but it has stuck. Do you really think that all is forgiven and forgotten? Not if it gets thrown in your face every 2 seconds that it was apartheids fault. Just look at all the barriers that get set up, the constitution, human rights, policy procedures, labor unions, etc.

Don’t be like the frog in a pot of water on the stove…..the water is warming and it is going to be too late when the water boils. Let’s start now and do something

about “our beloved country!”  Jack I support you and Skop. Remember that during the Anglo Boer war there were joiners (traitors), there will be joiners now too.

Keep the faith and all will go well.

Regards,

Greg

Ying and Yang

I have been receiving the Tokoloshe for years now! And I appreciate it very much.

It is a great pity that the SKOP website has been discontinued ¨I believe the amount of people who were appreciative weigh out (by far) the number of people who have criticized you and/or the site. Unfortunately ¨criticism is a part of life, a part of the good and the bad. Don’t forget no matter how much good there is ¬there will be some bad. Just the same as with all the bad, there is some good (Ying & Yang).

Now I will make some criticism of my own. If people (South African’s or not) are not happy about reading the site because it disturbs their breakfast (or whatever) then they should not read it ¨as simple as that. But for the rest of us it is disappointing to see you discontinue this site. You are no better than them if you just stop the site and let their voices be heard!!! Perhaps I don’t know the full length of criticism but surely we South Africans are not that NAAFI, as you put it!

The question of how we can stop the crime is a tough one ¨how can we? Reading all those horrific stories makes no difference to what we can or cant do ¨at the end of the day ¨we have run away from it ¨so what does that tell you about all of us outside the country? Unfortunately the only way that anyone ever decides to react is when they have a reason to ¨like when it happens to someone close to us!!

The crime in SA has to stop ¨but the only way that is ever going to happen is when people are correctly punished for their crimes. A life sentence should be a life sentence and NOT a 25 year sentence. We should have death row. The reason crime is so vast is because people are not scared of being caught. And it will only get worse until some kind of fear of participating in crime is established!

Don't stop now

I read all your messages.  Thanks for sharing. Can't help but comment on this. If ever there are "bad" spirits out there who are trying to put you down, I'm sure they are only few.  You still have the majority with you, Jack. I may not be a South African, but I know what you're fighting and serving for.  I hope you won't stop now.

Remembering Jay on the 25th of this month.

May God bless you and keep you safe.

With kind regards,

Cecille

Only visit on holidays

Unfortunately ¨instead of helping to establish a fear in the minds of those criminals ¨, the SKOP website is (for some people) establishing a fear and disappointment in the place some of us (unfortunately) now refer to as our “second home ¨ and only visit on holidays!

Isn’t it strange how everybody always says it’s getting better. ¨ I don’t know why every time I hear that ¨something bad happens to someone I know!?!

Perhaps a good way to start making the SKOP voices heard is to ask peoples opinions ¨C build that voice. Let’s draft some sort of letter from the South Africans to the people who can make a difference (government, defence,¬I don’t know¬) lets get South African on your distribution list to put their names down on the list. ¬A chain of some sort. Maybe that will convince people to read those stories and then feel like they are making some action. Because lets not fool ourselves ¨anybody can go to news24.com and read the stories...but they have no opportunity to change things.

I hope these views have not offended you! But I really feel that you need to hear it and accept those criticising NAAFI’s because they are also a voice ¨just like your site is!”

Regards,

Jacky (Full name supplied)

Unsubscribe wingers

Your facilitation and support offered to your fellow countrymen has been nothing short of remarkable. Those that dare to complain should rather unsubscribe themselves from your mail listings, rather than winge like pathetic, ungrateful South Africans.

I say keep up the patriotic good work!

Adrian

Unity is strength

Don’t let the few out there discourage you – there are many of us that believe in you and support what you stand for. Unity is strength brother.

Second highest

Just thought I would let you know, that according to a report on the following link: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph-T/cri_mur_cap, our country has the second highest murder rate per capita in the world. If this not scare people away, even South Africans, then I dunno what we can do. Is it a hopeless case?

Jeremy

Reconsider

Please reconsider your decision to stop SKOP, I dont see why the rest of us have to suffer because of a hand full of a**hole south africans who should be ashamed of themselves.

I think that what you are doing is really great and it makes me proud to be south african if i know that i can say that you are my fellow country man. I beg you to reconsider.

Best regards
Michelle

Bad experiences

All of us have had bad experiences(We were also victims as you know of a farm murder) but life goes on and we need to be positive or else we will all be sad bastards.I’m always there if you need any help

Ben

Quitters never win

Come on Jack, quitters never win. Surely you want your ton!!!! Can't you issue number 100 as your finale but only include ALL the positive comments and letters received by you over the years and, a selection of pictures showing the good times we SA's have had here in Dubai. Who can forget the wonderful camaraderie at the 7's.

Thanks for all the interesting reading over the last 3 years. Believe it or not you did make a difference.

Rodney

NAFI

The South African definition is NAFI. The Rhodesians were called "When We's." South Africans should adopt the name of NAFI, No Ambition, F**kall Interest.

Jack, I invite you to come join the Eagles, come soar with us. There aren't many of us, we have open skies and hell, it beats gobbling around with those turkeys running aimlessly below. Thanks for all your personal time and effort in trying to make a difference, as it was said, 'You only pass this way but once…….'

Regards,

Rodney

There is still hope

Well done for a great initiative. I hope it spreads its wings and flies.  From where I am currently,  I read the Star each morning and there are so many murders and rapes and inidications of corruption and nepotism that we become almost immune to the daily diet. Security in many places here is a farce. Either do it properly or don't bother. So sad to see our beloved country going this way,  but I still feel there is hope.

When I see two full pages in the paper about 'three year old raped' 'police woman murdered' , ' man murders his lovers'  etc etc, there is a lot to say and do.

Keep positive!

Mike

One of the  objectives of this site is to find someone, somewhere who can get the South African Police to conduct a  proper investigation into the murder of my 18 year-old son, Jay, in Johannesburg South Africa on 25 August, 2002, bring the culrpits to book and give us all closure. It is also in memory of Inge Lotz who was brutally murdered in Stellenbosch. Inge, 21, was the only daughter of a  good friend of mineJan Lotz, who  also used to live in Dubai.
